Islam is our light that guides us...

It’s simple. If it brings you happiness, but takes you away from Allah, that is the strongest sign that it isn’t in your best interest - not in this life or the hereafter. And if it’s a hardship you face, but it strengthens your relationship with your Creator, then it is a blessing and a sign that you’re doing something right.
